Nė 26 prill 1910 nė Mitrovicė dhe Vuēiternė nisi kryengritja e parė antiosmane nė radhėn e kryengritjeve tė mėdha qė ēuan nė shpalljen e pavarėsisė.

Njohtojmė komunitetin shqiptarė, se tė premten me 14 Nėntor 2002 nė qytetin Regina, Saskatoon nė Kanada, nga njė zjarr i papritur qė pėrfshiu ndėrtesėn ku jetonte familja Zeka, humbi jetėn tragjikisht Linda Zeka 28 vjeēe, nėnė e dy fėmijėve, Noli dy vjeē e gjysėm dhe Hana katėr muajsh, tė cilėt janė nė gjendje kritike. Sipas burime spitalore nė gjendje tejet tė rėndė janė edhe Arben Zeka 32 vjeē, bashkėshorti i Lindės, i cili ka humbur vetėdijen, dhe nėna e tij Bademe Zeka 60 vjeē, jeta e tė cilėve ėshtė nė rrezik. Familja Zeka ishte vendosur nė kėtė qytet si refugjatė nga Kosova tė ardhur tri vite mė parė . Sipas informacioneve tė marra nga kontakti i AAWO me Regina General Hospital, zjarri kishte shpėrthyer rreth orės 2 pas mesnate, nė kohėn kur tė gjithė ishin duke fjetur. Nė njė bisedė telefonike me Minire Loshin fqinjė e familjes Zeka, poashtu refugjatė tė ardhur nga Kosova, kuptuam se nė kėtė qytet jetojnė gjithėsejt 12 familje shqiptare, tė gjithė refugjatė kosovarė. Z. Loshi tha se: Ne jemi tė gjithė refugjatė dhe duam qė tė ndihmojmė kėtė
familje.Duam qė tė mbledhim mjete dhe tė dėrgojmė kufomėn e Lindės pėr tu varrosur nė Kosovė. Ajo i ka tė dy pridėrit, pleq dhe shumė tė sėmurė.
Besojmė se edhe ndihma e komunitetit shqiptar nė New York nuk do tė mungojė. Po ashtu lutemi shumė pėr jetėn e Arbenit, Bademes, Nolit dhe

AAWO responds to a tragedy please help!
For Refugees who have escaped the terrors of war in Kosova, and have just adjusted to a new land in Canada the Holiday season usually means celebration and gratitude for their accomplishments during the past year.
In the case of Family Zeka holidays are overshadowed by an unspeakable tragedy that occurred on Friday, November 14, 2002. In the city of Regina, of Saskatoon, in Canada where family Zeka lived for the past 3 years, fire erupted at 2:00 am in the morning catching the entire family
asleep. Linda (28) trying to survive her four months old daughter Hana, and her 2-1/2 year old son Noli, died in the fire. Her husband Arben (32)
is in critical condition at the Regina General Hospital. While his mother Badem and the children suffered second-degree burns.
Family Zeka originally is from Peje, Kosova. They arrived in Regina as refugees and settled this city among very few Albanian families.
Arben and Linda worked very hard to create a new life for themselves. Their neighbors described them as kind, generous and serious people. We are only 12 Albanian families in this region, said Minire Loshi, their first neighbor who is running between her home and the hospital a few times a day. We are worried about Arben and we hope he will survive.
He is in Comma and doctors do not know the results of his condition yet. We are all refuges here and do not have means to help this family.
Lindas parents are very sick in Peje and they have asked for her body to be sent for burial in Kosova. We hope that New York Community will extend
their hand and help us carry out this mission. Minire continued. Twelve Albanian families have decided to take care of surviving members of Zeka
Family until they will be able to heal from the burns and begin to function again once out of the hospital. Lindas body has not been released yet and therefore we are left not only to deal with this tragedy that occurred on Friday, but also to take charge and act fast in support of the living. AAWO would like to invite all of you to help us collect
funds for two reasons: Help send the body of Linda Zeka to be buried home in Kosova. And, help Badem Zeka, a 60 year old grandmother with a little four-month-old Hana and two and half year old Noli, feel safe, until they will be able to receive any support, once released from the hospital. Let
us just think for one minute how lucky we all are in the midst of our families. Little Hana and Noli will never know their mother. AAWO feels that we owe to help Albanian refugees in all aspects of life and
especially in difficult tragedies like these. We are here to help not only them make a better life, but as well as in the time of death. AAWO is here like mother of a community for better or for worse we must extend our hand in death like in life.
We are sorry about this tragic news, but in sorrow we must find peace and grace to extend the families our condolences, hope and our support.
The loss is big for the words to express but let us be here for the living. Yes, we must provide hope for little Hana and Noli who will never know what struck them in their little lives. PLEASE ACT NOW!
